Howdy! I'm Carter, a software engineer based in Austin, Texas. I love
spending time with friends, rock climbing, and drinking a local IPA.
I'm currently enjoying myself over at Hello Patient - we're building a
platform to get clinical staff off the phone and in front of patients.
Before this, I worked at Truffle and founded Sycer Development back in
December 2019, where I built Discord bots for sneaker "cook groups" (wild
times).
Tech I Work With
I'm a generalist and jump across the stack from full-stack product
features to wrangling Kubernetes upgrades to scaling databases. Some of
the technologies I enjoy include Postgres, Rust, TypeScript, Bun,
Kubernetes, Argo, Cloudflare, GitHub Actions, and agentic programming.

- Engineered Scyllax, a Rust-based query framework for Scylla, implementing coalescing and a standard public API
- Lead the research, development and deployment of Hypha, a gRPC layer standardizing access to our Scylla database clusters
- Spearhead a company-wide migration from JavaScript to TypeScript, including microservices, web apps, APIs, and public packages
- Manage and foster healthy development standards with linting, formatting and code modules
Software Engineer @ PUSHAS
June 2021 - July 2022 Culver City, CA + Remote
- Built a warehouse management API utilizing AWS CodePipelines and Lambda, eliminating the need for a web server
- Researched and tested various infrastructure and programming tools to draft specifications and plan project goals
- Coordinated with Customer Support to build the necessary infrastructure for a support dashboard with Retool

- Engineered an enterprise B2C subscriptions system that delivered half-a-million SMS alerts to 25,000 registered users
- Implemented automated recurring subscription and payment processing using Stripe
- Implement Prometheus, Loki, and Grafana to collect and display analytical data aiding in the resolution of outages
- Conducted business management duties, including filing founding documents, conducting interviews and managing finances
